Course Overview:

Use the micro:bit smart car to learn and gain knowledge about graphics programming, electronic devices and robots. Students do not need prior experience, but they can still use their creativity to enjoy the coding process.

Learning Objectives:

• Learn about robotics and mechanical design

• Get to know how to use the micro:bit

• Understand the basic application of micro:bit trolley

• Learn how to use the wireless remote control to control the micro:bit car

• Learn how to use ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles ahead

• Understand programming and learn the basic concepts of If conditional-driven programming, and use conditional (if) blocks and arithmetic operations in the code

Course Content:

• Assemble the micro:bit smart car

• Understand the structure and parts of mechanical vehicles

• Understand the information flow: input, process and output

• Basic programming knowledge

• Understand and apply light sensor

• Introduce the principle and use of ultrasound

• Use ultrasonic sensors to write obstacle avoidance programs

• Understand the principle and usage of line tracking sensor

• Instruct the robot to use the tracking sensor to move around
